In November 2010, a vibrant four year old girl named Kenna Rae Parfrey was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. AML is a fast-growing cancer of the blood and bone marrow. For treatment, Kenna underwent very aggressive chemotherapy over a several month period. During her hospitalization, her loving parents committed to never leaving her side. They split shifts between the hospital, their jobs and home so they could also care for her two siblings. Thankfully, Kenna is now out of the hospital and doing much better. Sadly, this ordeal left her family with bills impossible for them to afford.
In a effort to help the Parfrey’s with this enormous burden, Shakefork Records has assembled this compilation as a way to raise awareness for their cause. As a reward for your generosity, we have assembled nearly two hours of music recently created by those musicians associated with Shakefork back in the day as well as the friends we have made during the last couple of decades.
On behalf of the Parfreys, Shakefork Records would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this project and especially YOU for your willingness to help a family in need.
